1. The league shall be known as the Stevenage Inter-Works Sports & Social Organisation (S.I.W.S.S.O) Bowls league.

2. League matches shall be played at the King George V Bowls greens.

3. The league shall be made up of teams from players associated with companies in Stevenage.

4. The committee shall consist of a chairman, a secretary, a treasurer and a results secretary. These positions will be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

5. Dependent on how many teams are registered to play in the league, there will be one or two divisions. (ref: Rule 21)

6. Teams to consist of four players.

7. All matches to start at 18:15 (6:15pm) prompt. Games played after the August bank holiday to start at 18:00 (6pm).

8. Matches to be played over 18 ends. In the event of inclement weather, matches may be reduced to a minimum of 11 ends by mutual agreement of both teams. NOTE: This agreement must be made before the start of the 9th end.

9. If a team has only three players at 18:15 (6:15pm) the game should start. The team that has only three players has two options:-
(a) Start the game with three players using two woods each and when the fourth player turns up he can join in at No 2. (No penalty occurred) 
(b) Play the entire game with three, players 1 & 2 using three woods each, if the fourth player turns up he cannot join in, (Penalty applied = 25% of score or 6 shots, whatever is the greatest).

10. Any team not in position to start a match 15 minutes after the specified start time shall concede the game.

11. No games shall be postponed unless the green keeper declares the rinks unplayable.

12. Team to go first during a match to be decided by the toss of a coin.

13. Flat soled shoes to be worn whilst playing.

14. Home team is responsible for supplying the jack.

15. In the event of any forfeited games then 2 points & 10 shots shall be awarded to the winning team receiving the forfeit.

16. Score cards to be signed by a member of both teams and placed in the box provided. When claiming a game put a score card in the box, claiming the points.

17. The committees decision is final.

18a. Singles, Pairs, Triples & Mixed Pairs cup competitions must be played by the stated dates. The FIRST named player is responsible for contacting their opponent and arranging a date, marker and green. Three dates in two separate weeks must be offered.

18b. Singles to be the first player to 21 shots. Pairs and Triples to be 18 ends.

19. Team knock out to be played in the same format as the league but in the event of a tie an extra end shall be played. The team to go first in the extra end to be decided by the toss of a coin.

20. League points awarded are:  2 points for a win & 1 point for a draw.

21. At the end of the season teams will be relegated from the first division & teams will be promoted from the second division.

22. Subscriptions to be decided at the AGM.
