Stevenage Town Bowls Club

Minutes.

Attendees: Sausage Taverniers, Damebusters, Psallien, Johns Merry Men, Glebe Globetrotters, Young Guns, Athletico 85, Jack Ups, Hawkwind, Rangefinders, Argonauts, Seawolves, Spartans, & Green Army.


1; Apologies for Absence: Squirrels Nuts, Easy Rollers.

No Shows:-Dun Cow, Short Corners, Jolly Boys, Poisoned Dwarves


2; Chairman’s report. (JW)

Colin Tavernier from Sausage roll sadly passed during the close season.

Mick Hicks is recovering from a medical problem.


3; Secretary’s report.(JW)

Eager Beavers have dropped out, Jolly Boys have joined. Sausage roll changed to Sausage Taverniers

All competitions completed last year despite Covid rules. Bit Different to normal but everyone enjoyed it.

 

4; Treasurer’s report (JW)

Council Invoice was for £3880 approx, JW argued to get a reduction because of the standard of the greens.

If Full fee for greens was paid we would have a negative balance.

Council were contacted 6 weeks ago Feb 22 for this years green fees but no response to date.


5; Fixtures secretary’s report (LB)

Everything went well as can be expected. This years fixtures will be on the web site shortly. Has ensured that every team has a game every week, this season.


6; Election of officers.(JW)

                Treasurer: Jim Winters

                Fixtures Secretary: Loz Baker


7;  Fees for 2022 (proposal £180)

The Proposal was superseded by a proposal from T. Hobson to £200 per team,

Seconded by B. House  Carried by Majority


8;  Any Other Business

Dame busters asked to convert the  league to triples, as this proposal was not submitted prior to the closing date it was not considered..

Reminded teams that competitions are open so pairs/ triples can be made up from different teams.

Rob Winters from Athletico 85, proposed running a  triples gala day. Agreed, he will organise it.

Jim Winters reminded team captains to make sure their teams do not leave Glasses Cans , Rubbish around the greens. Council came to repair sprinklers and found beer cans jammed in one.

Colin Cole proposed vote of thanks for the committees hard work, all agreed.

Post meeting note.

The clubhouse was broken in to in Feb. So far the only thing missing is the Keys for the stores and the public changing room. The changing room has had the lock changed. I will supply keys for those that want one for £5.

Can all those who did not attend the A.G.M confirm their participation ASAP.
